A Meaningful Benefit to NAJA Members & PAS Users
The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA) announces the collaboration with Professional Appraisal Software (PAS) to create an appraisal document module for NAJA appraisers that is in conformity with NAJA’s Minimum Standards. Thom Underwood, GG, inventor of Quantum Leap’s PAS software (also a NAJA member) , responded to the need to have a ready-made computer generated appraisal model that conforms to the 2008 standards and protocols of NAJA and USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice).
Gail Brett Levine, GG, Executive Director of NAJA, is elated to have this option available to NAJA users of Quantum Leap. “This move towards professionalism fittingly dovetails into the overall initiative that began in early 2007 of encouraging members to re-examine their appraisal work product.” With the advent of increased awareness of appraisers and appraisals due to the sub-prime mortgage market as well as an updated USPAP Standards effective January 1st, 2008, more emphasis is being placed on a well constructed and researched appraisal documents. “The day of the one page appraisals are over” says Howard Rubin, GG, National Secretary of NAJA.
“We are excited about this opportunity to serve NAJA members”, says Thom Underwood, “working together we have instituted an NAJA element within Professional Appraisal Software (PAS) that addresses NAJA and USPAP document criteria. Working with Gail Levine and Howard Rubin on this project has been inspiring because of their vast experience and vision for the appraisal profession.” The new element will be available for free to all NAJA members who are currently PAS users. Additionally when any NAJA member purchases Quantum Leap it will be integrated as part of their purchase package.
This is an important opportunity for all NAJA appraisers who are currently using PAS. Their appraisals can now meet the professional document criteria set forth by both NAJA and USPAP without time consuming modification to make PAS meet their individual and professional needs. New users of the software will continue to find that PAS is efficient and professional while retaining its reputation for ease of implementation, flexibility and reliability.
